SCOBY, Wave & Shore (2015, 2019)
A frozen moment in time, a physical shore to rest on beneath a wave of light and color: this multi-sensory installation will invite participants to wonder and reverie.
Wave & Shore is an installation that encouraged exploration through:
Touch: The floor had a plethora of stuffed-cells, or SCOBY, that participants will lay on.
Taste/Scent: The stuffing within the cells included dried tea to evoke scent/taste memories.
Sight: Color/light was frozen in a suspended wave of colorful lenses hung above the shore, starting at the base of the windows, arcing over the shore. Shifting light created a prism of varied color and shape.
Sound: A soundtrack of spoken word and found sound recordings.
